| 2/1/1901 | Six language penel were started on the Rs. five dinomination. These notes were single sided and the back side could be used for accounting purposes. The six languages were Urdu, Bengali, Telugu, Kaithi, Kannada and Tamil. The paper used for printing was white hand made and moulded. |

| 5/4/1783 | Tipu Sultan was enthroned as the ruler of Mysore after the death of Haider Ali in a simple ceremony at Bednur. He continued the Second Mysore War against the English. He defeated many EnglishGenerals like Brithwhite & Col. Bailey. Tipu Sultan signed the treaty at Mangalore on 11th March 1784 A.D. which was known as the Mangalore treaty. |

| 10/26/1930 | Dr. Waldemar Modecal Haffkine, famous scientist, bacteriologist and professor, died in Paris. He had invented the Cholera vaccine in 1893 and a vaccine for Plague in 1897 at the Grant Medical College, Bombay. |
| 9/28/1827 | A few mountain battery trains flourished and kept the Indian component alive as part of the Royal artillery. Recently, it has been established that 8 Company Bombay Artillery survived axing and is now 5 (Bombay) Mountain Battery. This day is now celebrated as the Raising Day of the Regiment of Artillery. |
| 11/24/1932 | The Third Round Table Conference ended in London. As Gandhi was in prison because of his civil disobedience movement he could not attend it. This conference ended without achieving anything. |
